On this day in 2020, animal rights activist Regan Russell was run over and killed by a truck driver who was delivering a trailer full of live pigs for slaughter to Fearman's Pork, Inc. (a subsidiary of Sofina Foods, Inc.) in Burlington, Ontario.

The truck driver was found guilty of 'careless driving causing death'. He received a $2000 dollar fine and 12 months of probation.

Regan was 65 years old. She was an activist most of her life and she advocated for fair, equal, humane treatment of all humans and animals.

She deserved to live a long, productive life.

In her memory and as a tribute to her, stop eating meat, even if it is just for this one day of remembrance.
