House Mysteriously Explodes in Virginia

So, a house suddenly exploded while police were serving a search warrant in Virginia and the experts seem baffled about how this happened. 

*The man reportedly discharged several rounds from within the home with a flare gun. 

*The police reportedly fired non flammable chemical munitions into the home. 

Geez, what could have possibly caused an explosion? 

The Associated Press squelched a rumor that federal agents set off the blast by firing munitions, because they said no federal agents were on site. I guess the AP reporters didn't think to ask about non-federal agents firing munitions. Definitely solid reporting.

My guess is an investigation will prove the police innocent and the dead man in the home at fault. <wink>
